Policy

Refund policy

Last updated October 24, 2026.

The short version

  • If the shop cancels, everyone who paid gets all their money back.
  • If you do not show up, there is no refund.
  • Nobody pays for the haircut at the shop. You only tip, if you want to.

Words we use

The example we use below

A $50.00 haircut. The card fee is $1.81, so the listing payment is $51.81. It sells for $75.00. Your real amounts are shown in the app before you pay.

If you are a seller

It sells

You get the haircut price back plus your share of the profit. At YBB that is $70.00 in our example. The card fee is not returned, because it paid for taking your card.

It does not sell, or you take it down

No refund. You keep your appointment, so come in as booked. You will not be charged for the haircut at the shop, only any tip you choose to leave.

It does not sell, and you do not show up

No refund. You will not be charged anything extra.

You cancel your own appointment with the shop

This counts the same as not showing up. No refund.

The shop cancels, and it had not sold

You get your full listing payment back, card fee included. In our example that is $51.81.

The shop cancels after it sold

You get your full listing payment back, card fee included, because you lost your appointment through no fault of your own. The payout you got from the sale is taken back, because the buyer is refunded too.

The shop pauses resales after you paid

If the shop stops resales for more than a short time, and your appointment has not sold or started, it cannot be listed. You get your full listing payment back, card fee included.

Your appointment time moves while it is listed

The listing comes down right away, so no buyer sees the old time. You keep your appointment and your listing payment. You can list it again at the new time without paying again.

If the service, barber or place changes instead, the listing comes down and a person looks at it with you, because the price you paid may not match what is booked.

If you are a buyer

You come in

The haircut is already paid for. You do not pay for it again at the shop. You only tip, if you want to.

You do not show up

No refund.

The shop cancels

You get back everything you paid. In our example that is $75.00.

A shop turning down a booking counts the same as the shop cancelling.
